Broken

And as I walk on

Weary from the night

My head once held high

Now cringes to the light

Rejections bearing down

To take my heart away

Shattering my security

With this coming day

The words seem shapeless

Upon this tattered tongue

As slowly I dredge on

To whereever I am flung

Upon a new or old love

I know not where I'll land

Thee is this longing now

To only reach the sand

Rest my weary sealegs

And make myself a home

I'll cry out to this longing

For again I am alone.
