Counting Stars
Momentary companionship
Was ours, brief to share
A smile lit your face up
So I couldn't help but stare
You race away home now
Yes far from my sight
But will you have the courage
To at least say goodnight
Goodbye's are as always
All so painful to hear
Though you haven't said them
They are ringing on clear
Your leaving in hours
So what can I do
Just hold to the memory
Of star gazing with you.
