Forgotten

Trapped in despair

Lonely and tired

Longing for home

For the familiar face

Of those unseen

My mind swims

Basking in memories

Wishing to reverse my direction

This one is leading away

Away from all I have striven for

Wake up and live

Free of these demons

That haunt me day to day

I can't live with them

They are eating me away

Devouring my security

And chaining me down

Stuck on earth

My soul reaches out

Longing and escape

From this earthly form

Will my next life be full

It seems this one is tainted

Tainted by the wrongs

Both past and present

They can't be erased

None can forget

Forgetting me is easy

They all seem to

Do they even try to remember

The good I have done

For I remember theirs

And now long my freedom to roam.
