Get A Grip
The knife turns
Ripping into my life
Trying to detach my soul
Grasping at it I cry
You can't take that from me
I spent my life strengthening
Solidifying and purifying it
Not to have it ripped away
This life is all we have
We need to be true to ourselves
And keep a tight grip on our piece
That piece of inner peace we cling to
Precious to few but ourselves
We need keep faith
In the serenity of oneness
One body one soul
They'll never take from me
That which is mine and mine alone
It is here in me and there shall stay
Until the day I free it
Let it soar to the heavens
And look down upon this world
See the saddened souls weep
Their owners too weak of mind
Weak of body to keep hold
When mind body and soul are one
Then you shall find your peace
Let your soul free to roam
And give meaning to your time spent
Though short on this world.
